The COI Tool allows you to evaluating the pairing from a genealogical point of view. By choosing the bitch, the stud dog and the number of generations to evaluate the program detects all common ancestors among the subjects chosen by calculating the coefficient consanguinity (Coefficient of Inbreending) according to the method of Wright, the most widespread in the zootechnical field.
The result page presents a table with the common ancestors detected between the two dogs sorted by rows. Starting from the left there is the generation of positions in the pedigree (eg 4-4 ​​means that is found twice in the fourth generation), the name of the ancestor, the inbreeding contribution when calculating the COI of the simulation (of 5, 6 or 7 generations depending on your choice), the percentage of blood (family support), the absolute kinship (relative to all generations) ancestor, and the data on dysplasias if present .. in the bottom of the table is the sum of the contributions of each ancestor, which represents the level of consanguinity expected in the progeny, for the evaluated generations. This coefficient is of crucial importance to assess that there is a kinship between excessive breeding.

Through the contents at the bottom, accessible through the tabs you can find the pedigree resulting from the simulation, a list of all the ancestors that make up the pedigree as their relevant data, and lists of Collateral where you can view all of the subject with a more genealogical and genetic similarity to our simulation already present in the population.
A careful study of these lists allows to evaluate complex traits such as dysplasia as well as morphological traits and defects that can be seen from the photos or by technical selection codes.
